Clinic’n’Cell

A few months ago, Science 2 Food intervened with the company Clinic’n’Cell, which develops ex-vivo clinical tests to simplify the validation of health records for manufacturers and laboratories with the European administration.

Indeed, in-vitro tests are simulations carried out in the laboratory and are not “physiological”, they are often not admissible by experts analyzing files for a health claim.

Animal testing is unethical.

 In-vivo tests are currently the most representative of a demonstrated effect on the human body. However, they are time-consuming, cumbersome to organize, and very expensive.

The delays and costs involved hinder the demands for health claims.

The approach of Ex-vivo tests proposed by Clinic’n’cell makes it possible to find an intermediate path with real physiological meanings, understanding of the mechanisms in a short time and with a strong statistical power.

Science 2 Food’s contribution concerned the sharing of experience on possible approaches with the scientific bodies of the European Union (EFSA).
